Contemporary Coastal House

The brief for this Waikanae Beach home was relaxed, refined living that felt at home by the coast. Designed for a recently retired couple, the interiors needed to complement the architecture and sweeping views to Kāpiti Island without overpowering them. Working with a calm palette of timber and neutrals, we layered Scandinavian-inspired pieces around the homeowners’ existing oak dining table, keeping everything timeless and design-led.

In the living space, the Carlton leather sofa and Charlotte chair create a warm, inviting setting for everyday relaxation, grounded by the soft Form rug and finished with the sculptural Santiago marble coffee table. Princeton dining chairs in Bristol beige add softness and structure around the existing table, while outdoors, the Cancun collection extends the same understated elegance to the deck.
